Neutering surgeries are inclusive of routine post-operative care, medication, check-ups and VAT. The prices given are for routine procedures only.
There are circumstances where these prices do not apply. For example, animals which are pregnant at the time of surgery; with testicular or uterine tumours or serious infections e.g. pyometra require more complex surgery and post-surgical care. These circumstances and the additional treatment which will be required will be discussed by the veterinary surgeon who proposes them. They will explain at that time why they are necessary for the safety of your pet and the additional costs which will be involved.

These can be advisable especially when an older animal is undergoing anaesthesia. They are offered as an option on out anaesthetic consent forms.
Occasionally more extensive pre-operative investigations are required. These will be discussed by the veterinary surgeon who proposes them. They will explain at that time why they are necessary for the safety of your pet.
The cost provided here is for routine dentistry to descale and polish (clean) teeth.
The costs below include general anaesthesia with intra-operative monitoring; a dental descale and polish procedure and perioperative pain relief, if this is required.
Dental descaling does not attract additional charges for hospital care. The care received on the day of the procedure is included in the costs below.
These costs do not apply if an animal requires extractions or has dental radiographs to examine the condition of their teeth more closely. The cost for such procedures will be provided during a veterinary assessment of the condition of the teeth before the dental procedure is performed. If an initial assessment is required before dentistry, this consultation will cost £49.38 in addition to the costs below.
The costs below do not include post operative check-ups as none are required for simple descale and polish procedures.
If mouth infection or inflammation is present, additional treatments to use at home after the procedure and additional veterinary check-ups are not included in these costs.
These costs do not include more in-depth urine examination (e.g. of urine sediment composition); consultations in person or on the telephone to discuss the results of urine analysis nor the initial veterinary assessment in which urine analysis was advised.
They do not include the cost of treatment dependent on what is seen on urine analysis as this is individual to the pet's condition.
This includes the cost of syringe, needle and safe disposal of these and the injection container after use according to the requirements of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations.

The following costs are a general guide. The exact costs will vary depending on the investigation required to diagnose your pet's particular problem.
Our veterinary team will discuss the costs of a complete medical investigation with you when we advise this for your pet. For serious medical problems this will usually include Laboratory tests, as indicated by the problem we are diagnosing, Radiography and possibly Ultrasonography, Computed tomography (CT) or occasionally MRI. These costs are individual to the problem which your pet has. As such, the costs of investigation are also individual to your pet's condition.
We will give you the most accurate estimate which we can of costs when the veterinary surgeon discussed the need for each procedure with you. This will be provided verbally and in writing at the time of the investigations being advised.
These costs include general anaesthesia with anaesthetic depth monitoring; up to three radiographs; veterinary interpretation and reporting of the images.
They do not include consultations to discuss the results of radiography nor the initial veterinary assessment in which radiography was advised.
They do not include the cost of treatment dependent on what is seen on radiography as this is individual to the pet's condition.
The costs below include the ultrasound examination only. The cost of an ultrasound is the same regardless of the species or size of the patient.

A diagnostic veterinary abdominal ultrasound does not usually examine a single organ, however, this is the cost which the Competition and Marketing authority require us to supply. Please discuss the cost of a diagnostic medical investigation with the veterinary surgeon who first advises this and who will be best placed to explain what your pet may need and why such tests are appropriate.
The cost of CT is the same regardless of the species or size of the patient.
The costs below include general anaesthesia with anaesthetic depth monitoring; CT of a single region; intravenous contrast administration when indicated; veterinary interpretation and reporting of the images.
These costs do not include the initial consultation at which CT was advised nor the consultation at which we will discuss the results of the medical investigation which we have performed.
They do not include the sending of images for external interpretation which can sometimes be required in complex cases nor do they include additional body regions which may need to be included in the investigation, depending on your pet's illness.
The cost of MRI is the same regardless of the species or size of the patient.
The costs below include general anaesthesia with anaesthetic depth monitoring; MRI of a single region; veterinary interpretation and reporting of the images.
These costs do not include the initial consultation at which MRI was advised nor the consultation at which we will discuss the results of the medical investigation which we have performed.
They do not include the sending of images for external interpretation which can sometimes be required in complex cases.
This cost includes the consultation in which euthanasia is performed as long as this is within normal surgery opening hours; the anaesthetic dose administered and any intravenous device used to administer that anaesthesia.
It does not include the performance of euthanasia on a home visit. If you would like your pet to pass away at home, please ask for the cost of this service.
It does not include the cost of an emergency call out to euthanase a very poorly pet outside normal opening hours.

This charge covers the cost of the veterinary surgeon looking at your pet's records and allowing medication to be supplied; the cost of packaging including nursing time to supply the prescription.
These are prescriptions which we supply you with to order from an internet pharmacy. They are not suitable for circumstances where your animal needs treatment today as they take a minimum of five days to arrive after you order the prescription.
There are many medications which are the same price or cheaper when supplied by this veterinary practice but there are others which may be cheaper if you order them on-line.
Providing your pet does not need urgent treatment to stop their illness deteriorating, on request, we will provide a written prescription at a cost which is in addition to the cost of the veterinary consultation at which that medication was prescribed. You will then have to pay for the cost of medication and delivery from whichever source supplies the medicine on the prescription.
